North Dakota tourism receives matched grants

The Links of North Dakota, about 26 miles east of Williston, will be among those benefitting from North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism Division Matched Grant Program and Events program.

Fourteen tourism-related entries received awards, totaling $63,000. The grants were created to develop partnerships and promote tourism-related sites, events, and programs throughout North Dakota.

"We're pleased to announce these grants with our industry partners whose programs and events draw visitors to communities all across the state," said Sara Otte Coleman, director of the Tourism Division. "Tourism is the second largest industry in North Dakota, and these grants help businesses and communities promote their offerings."

The Links of North Dakota will be promoted with the Triple Challenge Golf Package along with the Bully Pulpit of Medora and the Hawk Tree golf course of Bismarck, according to tourism officials.

Among the 2007 program grant recipients are :
  • Lewis and Clark Golf Trail

  • Red River Attractions - Promotional Brochure and Website Enhancements.

  • Triple Challenge Golf Package - Promotional Guide.

  • Dakota Trails - Group Travel Promotional Campaign.

  • The Printers -Statewide Scenic Byway and Motorcycle Guides.

  • KTM Adventure Tours -Statewide Adventure Tour Campaign.

    Among the 2007 Event Grant Recipients are:

  • International Peace Garden - Horticulture Boot Camp.

  • Devils Lake Tourism - Professional Walleye Tournament.

  • Rural Cass Snowmobile Club - Snow Jam Festival.

  • City of Beach - Spirit of the West Celebration.

  • Sully's Hill Wildlife Refuge Society -Sully's Hill Birding and Nature Festival.

  • North Dakota State Fair Center - North Dakota State Fair.

  • Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Wings and Things of Nature.
