Shortly before 6 a.m., Jonas McKenzie, 24, was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup about 1/2 mile south of the Trenton Lake Road, on a canal road, following a prairie trail down a hill.
McKenzie lost control of the vehicle, drove off the prairie trail and down the side of the hill. The vehicle landed on the canal road.
All four occupants were injured and transported to Mercy Medical Center by a private vehicle, including driver Jonas McKenzie; Nathan McKenzie, 26 of Trenton; Katie Pappa, 23, of Sidney, Mont.; and Daniel Mossett, 24 of Halliday. The highway patrol reported all were without seatbelts.
McKenzie was charged with care required. Damage to the pickup was moderate.
