Stanley, Tioga to meet for '16' title

STANLEY - Host Stanley and Tioga will battle for the Sweet 16 Boys Basketball Holiday Tournament title after each won its semifinal game Monday.

The Blue Jays rallied past Parshall 75-66, while Tioga held off Minot Ryan 64-61.

In the consolation round, Divide County handled North Shore-Plaza 66-46, New Town pounded Glenburn 80-48, Minot Sophomores got by Kenmare 63-59 and the Minot JV defeated Ray 68-57.

In the loser's bracket, Trinity Christian dumped Trenton 83-68 and Burke County got past Powers Lake-Wildrose-Alamo 52-37.

Stanley 75, Parshall 66 Lance Hollinger led the Blue Jays in a comeback after an early deficit scoring 25 points to lead Stanley, while Peter Kannianen added 21 and Layne Fluhrer had 13.

Parshall was paced by Neil Packineau with 16, Rudy Young Bird with 12, and Jake Myrick and Nathan Packineau with 10 apiece.

Minot Ryan led the Lions with 17 points and Jordan Hendershot added 15.
