Local author Chuck Black has been busy burning the midnight oil and that effort has led to the release of his fourth book in a series, with this issue entitled "Kingdom's Reign."

This book covers the Biblical span of time from the return of Christ to the end of the millennium.

Black notes it took one year to write the book, which was completed in January, prior to going on sale in February.

It proved to be a family affair with his wife Andrea and oldest daughter Brittney called upon to edit the book.

Younger daughter Emily pitched in by writing the theme song which is printed at the end of the book. CHECK IT OUT

You can view chapter excerpts online at www.perfect-praise.com.

At the same time the theme music for each of the four books can also be heard.

With the celebration of Easter upon us this is perfect timing to call attention to the local production.

AVAILABLE LOCALLY

To purchase your copy locally you can stop by Books on Broadway or The Bible Bookstore in downtown Williston.

In addition, homeschool vendors are selling all of the books throughout the country from Florida to Washington.

It's great to see the talents of a local family reaching out across the country.

JAYCEES TAB WELLS

While gearing up for the upcoming state convention in Williston the local Jaycees chapter has announced they have selected Amy Wells as their candidate for the North Dakota Jaycees "Outstanding Young North Dakotans" competition.

That award will be presented during the state spring boards convention set for April 20 to May 2.

Wells has been active with many organizations in Williston including the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, the North Dakota National Guard Family Support Group, the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and area 4-H activities, to name a few.

Annually the Jaycees selects and honors outstanding members.

There's no doubt Wells is an excellent nomination.

PAINTED CANYON

We have received word the Painted Canyon Rest Area, located seven miles east of Medora along I-94 will open on April 9.

From that time on restrooms are slated to be available 24 hours.

Also opening that day will be the Painted Canyon Visitor Center.

This Painted Canyon Overlook offers an inspiring panoramic vista that is is one of the most captivating views of the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Next time you're in the neighborhood check it out.

SANDVIK CELEBRATION

A special Open House to celebrate 60 years of a family owned hardware business in Williston is being planned.

It started out as Coast To Coast and today Sandvik Brothers True Value carries on the name.

The special event is set for April 23-24.

Watch for further details on this event.

FIRST NATIONAL PROJECT

Another renovation project taking place in downtown Williston is at 1st National Bank & Trust Co.

Officers have been relocated as construction crews do their thing to provide the facelift.

Once the dust settles you will be able to check out the new surroundings.

YOUR LUCKY DAY?

With the shift to Daylight Savings Time we can only hope this also means we can enjoy some nice weather.

We also hope you remembered to adjust your clock.

At the same time someone just might find themselves reaping the harvest of the $39 million dollar Powerball.

Today is also a special day with 4/4/4 showing up on the calendar.

Perhaps that is a lucky combination?

But then again, this follows on the heels of April Fool's Day, with a few of us on the receiving end.

Oh well, payback can be sweet.

STRIP MALL OF AMERICA

One such prank that hit the internet on Thursday was an annoucement of a new Strip Mall of America that stretches over one-sixth of our state.

The article noted officials from the state attended a recent ribbon cutting ceremony for the state's largest shopping center todate.

This was touted to be the largest strip mall in the world.

The location was listed as along Interstate 94 from Eldridge to a point seven miles west of Fargo, occupying six different zip codes, capable of hosting more than 4,700 stores and boasts 240,000 parking spaces.

No doubt the number of parking spaces gave this away.

Go figure.

STENEHJEM FAMILY

A good man was laid to rest on Saturday as family members gathered for the funeral of Phil Stenehjem.

Community service is something that has long been associated with the Stenehjem name across this great state.

This loyal Coyote, with a little Concordia Cobber mixed in, was one who strongly believed in Orange and Black.

Working with youth was also of special interest to him.

He proved that through his work, not only in public service, but through his many contributions to scouting programs.

When called upon in his youth he proudly served his country with honor.

He strongly believed in family, youth, his church and of course the Minnesota Vikings.

Over the years he gave of his time, that included 18 years as a member of the Williston school board.

To the end he was true to WHS, serving as a member of the Coyote Foundation Board.

At the age of 80 he was called to serve in yet another capacity.
